The first generation of toyota tacoma came in the market during 1995 and its feature was more or less remained same till 2005. During the first two years, there were heavy sales of this vehicle, particularly among young users. There was very little cosmetic change (in head lights and grilles only) in the car till 2001. During 2005 the second generation of this vehicle was produced which is still continuing. This is now available in 18 different configurations. Some changes were made in 2006 model, as some of the options were standardized based on customer’s feedback received over the years. In 2007 model, two new interior colors were introduced.

In 2009 model few new safety features were added. In 2012 model, it is expected that there will be redesigning of the vehicle keeping in view of its competitor’s trucks.  Toyata gives special emphasis about the customer’s feedback and keeping in view of their interests, they are planning to develop and incorporate various changes in their future models. Toyata is planning to recall large number of trucks sold recently, as some of the pieces have developed cracks in front drive shaft during production stage. This has been done to take care of customer’s interest. They will check all the vehicles and replace them if required.
